Polokwane City coach Phuti Mohafe: If we can get one win, then maybe things will change

Rise and Shine enjoyed strong first half of the season, sitting comfortably in fourth place on the Betway Premiership standings for a number of months.

They have since slipped down into sixth place with five games of the 2024/25 season remaining

Mohafe's charges have managed just seven goals in 13 league matches since January, including a 3-1 victory over a struggling Richards Bay and ahead of losses to both Sekhukhune United and Orlando Pirates.

Compared to eight wins from 15 in the first round, Polokwane have managed just one victory in the last 10 matches.

Mohgafe said on iDiski Times: "It's a worrying factor. Sometimes I wish that you could come into our [training] sessions and see what we are doing in terms of finishing, going into the opposition half and creating those chances and scoring.

"But coming to the match is a different story. I really don't know what is happening with our finishing, but we will continue working on that."

City are still fighting for a CAF Confederation Cup spot and are next in action against lowly SuperSport United, with the head coach adding: "It worries us, but at this moment in time, we should be more worried about getting positive results than worried about sliding down.

“If you can get one win, then maybe things will change for the better. But I think with the attitude of the guys, we just need to work on it and see what happens in the next matches.”
