Riveiro announced his shock decision to leave Pirates at the end of the season despite leading the club to numerous trophies in his short time with the team.
The Spaniard has since been applauded for his work with the Buccaneers, and Mohafe added his praise following Rise and Shine's 1-0 Betway Premiership defeat to the Soweto side.
The Bucs boss said on iDiski Times: "Thank you to Phuti, thank you to the coach, I didn't hear him, I trust you on this one.
"Obviously for us coaches if you get the recognition of your work from colleagues, I think it's the best one that you can get from your own players and from your colleagues it's something to appreciate."
Riveiro's has won three MTN8's and two Nedbank Cup's with Pirates, alongside two second placed league finishes.
"Like I said many times, I just came here to try do my best help my club, help my team get better, to improve, to go to a better place, to go to a better level together with the coaching staff and the super staff," he added.
"So far I think we did a good job. It is for the people to evaluate what we do each and every day for these players for the club as well and directly for the South African football as well. Like I said, I'm just trying to do my job as good as I can with professionally, with dedication, with passion and if the consequences of that is getting results."
