Itumeleng Khune: I haven't retired
Former Bafana and Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune insists he has not retired and is open to offers to play again.
With no silverware yet again and inconsistent league performances, Chiefs' faithful have been left disheartened - their latest setback being a 1-1 draw against TS Galaxy.
In their last game, Duba found the net for the Glamour Boys, only for an unfortunate own-goal by teammate Given Msimango to cancel out his effort and cost them crucial points in the race for a top-three finish and CAF competition return.
Acknowledging the pain of the result, Duba showed maturity beyond his years, apologizing on Msimango's behalf and assuring fans that the squad is determined to make amends - starting with the Nedbank Cup.
"Mistakes happen, and we'll fix it next game, make sure the next cross I deliver ends in a goal. We're working on it in training," said the Chiefs player.
"Our fans deserve better. They've stood by us through the tough times. We know they're tired of winless runs, but we're building - step by step. The Nedbank Cup? We're going all out for it. We promise we'll bring it home for them."
Chiefs now prepare for a massive showdown in the semi-finals of the Ke Yona Cup, where they will take on Mamelodi Sundowns on Saturday - a clash that could define their season and potentially deliver long-awaited joy to their supporters.
