Orlando Pirates prepare for tough CAF Champions League clash against Pyramids
Orlando Pirates are set to host Pyramids FC in the first leg of the CAF Champions League semi-final at Orlando Stadium on Saturday.
While the Brazilians have won the continental competition just once, alongside one runners-up appearance, the Egyptian giants are the most successful Champions League club, winning 12 titles and ending as runners-up five times.
They defeated Esperance de Tunis 1-0 in last season's final and are favourites to retain their title again this season.
The two sides come face to face in their first leg at Loftus on Saturday, and Adams explained his team will need to be patient to record a positive result.
Adams said in the Citizen: "For us they are going to come and defend. They know how to win trophies, especially the Champions League.
"But we are prepared for that. It is up to us to attack them with many numbers and hopefully we can get the win."
Adams added that he has settled in well at Sundowns since his move from Stellenbosch in the January transfer window. He has three goals and two assists in 17 appearances.
He said: “It was not easy for me to just come in and perform but the players encouraged me and gave me a lot of confidence. Credit to them and the coaches.”
