Sundowns dominate Tshwane Derby with convincing win over SuperSport

Jayden Adams opened the scoring in the 11th minute, setting the tone for the match.

Tashreeq Matthews added two more goals to seal the win, with assists coming from key players like Lucas Ribeiro Costa and Peter Shalulile.

Sundowns have now won five of the last seven Tshwane Derbies, underlining their supremacy in the fixture.

Their current league form is equally impressive, with 13 wins from 14 matches, keeping them six points clear at the top of the table.

Meanwhile, SuperSport United, once a dominant force in South African football with three consecutive league titles over two decades ago, are now focused on youth development and selling talent.

Their last derby win came courtesy of Tapelo Maseko, who has since joined Sundowns.

Coach Miguel Cardoso made strategic substitutions, resting playmaker Marcelo Allende in preparation for Sundowns' crucial top-of-the-table clash against Orlando Pirates.

Pirates, who defeated Sekhukhune United 2-0 in Polokwane, remain in pursuit of the league leaders.
