Sundowns dominate Tshwane Derby with convincing win over SuperSport
Mamelodi Sundowns continued their irrepressible form with a commanding 3-0 victory over SuperSport United in the Tshwane Derby on Wednesday at Lucas Masterpieces Moripe Stadium.
Maboe joined SuperSport on loan from Sundowns during the recent transfer window, but a clause in the deal prevents him from featuring when the two teams meet.
Hunt, however, was unaware of this restriction ahead of their upcoming Tshwane derby at Lucas Moripe Stadium on Wednesday.
The Matsatsantsa coach expressed his disappointment, saying the midfielder could have made a big impact for his side.
"I work on the green grass. He [Maboe] just came in, and it's disappointing because I think he adds value to us. But agreements were made somewhere, and I don't know anything about it," Hunt told SuperSport.com.
"I was just told he can't play, which is a big blow because he's a quality player. We saw against AmaZulu when he came on for 30 minutes—he gives us a different dimension. So, it's disappointing."
Hunt also highlighted his frustration with not being able to field a consistent starting lineup, unlike other teams in the league.
"I look at some teams, and they play the same XI every week. If you can tell me my starting XI for Wednesday, I'd be a lucky man. It's a bit difficult."
SuperSport United will go into the clash against the league leaders following a disappointing 2-1 defeat to AmaZulu FC last weekend. They will be eager to bounce back, while Sundowns, sitting comfortably at the top of the Betway Premiership table, will be looking to extend their lead.
Currently, SuperSport sit in 11th place with 16 points from 15 games, while Sundowns lead the standings with 36 points from 13 matches.
