Nasreddine Nabi confident that Kaizer Chiefs are "on the right path"

Amakhosi have struggled for consistency in the South African top-flight this season but had shown signs of improvement with two victories in two recent games, beating Sekhukhune United 1-0 in the league and ABC Motsepe side Free Agents in the Nedbank Cup.

They most recently suffered a 1-0 defeat to Orlando Pirates in the Soweto Derby, but pushed their rivals all the way before a 96th minute penalty settled the tie.

There were a lot of positives to take from the tie, with Nabi posting on social media: "Amakhosi faithful, your passion fuels us.

"A tough one [on Saturday], the result stings, but we see the progress, the strides we're making.

"The journey is long, but we're on the right path. Thank you for your unwavering belief, and thanks to management for their continued support. We will rise again, God willing.”

Chiefs are in action against Usuthu at the FNB Stadium on Tuesday evening.

They are currently in fifth on the league standings with 21 points from 15 matches.
