Dino Ndlovu: Nobody must write us off in a cup game

Ndlovu recently joined the Betway Premiership side on a short-term deal until the end of the season.

Prior to his arrival, team were struggling in the Betway Premiership under former head coach Dan Malesela but they have since seen upturn in form and results with Abdeslam Ouaddou at the helm.

The new coach led his team to a 2-0 win over Pirates in his first game in charge as well as victories over Cape Town City and TS Galaxy, alongside a draw with SuperSport United to move into 12th on the league standings.

Ouaddou also guided Gallants past Durban City in their NedbankCup quarter-final clash, and Ndlovu says there is no reason why they can't reach the final.

He said on FARPost: "The league games are always different from the cup games. Cup games are survival of the fittest. In the league a couple of weeks ago, the guys were in a different position and everyone else was writing us off.

"But now we have confidence, and for the last three games we got seven points in the league, and I think we are building up this week, taking us from the league to the cup. As I said, the league game and the cup games are two different things.

“So nobody must write us off. In a cup game, anything can happen. We are not going there just to fold over and let Pirates come at us. We also have our own surprises to go at them, and probably we will get to the final.”
