Betway Premiership wrap: Gallants continue revival with Galaxy win

Marumo Gallants continued their revival under new head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou with a 2-1 Betway Premiership win over TS Galaxy on Sunday night.

Masindi Nemtajela opened the scoring at the Mbombela Stadium after just two minutes before Daniel Msendami got on the scoresheet with his goal with 56 minutes played.

A 67th minute Sepana Letsoalo goal sparked a late comeback but the away team held on for all three points.

The result saw Gallants move into 12th place on 25 points from 23 games, three clear of the relegation places.

The Rockets ended the evening in fourth on the league standings with 35 points from 24 games.

Elsewhere, there was no separating SuperSport United and Cape Town City at the Peter Mokaba Stadium.

Neither side was able to find the back of the net, with Andre Arendse in charge of Matsatsantsa for the first time since the sacking of Gavin Hunt, as Diogo Peral named his first team since Muhsin Ertugral was relieved of his duties.

The result left City in 14th place on the Betway Premiership standings with 24 points from 24 games and SuperSport in 15th place with 22 points from 22 games.

Only suspended Royal AM are worse off in 16th place with eight points from 11 games.
