Roundup: Late AmaZulu drama and clutch equalizers light up Betway Premiership

Both matches showcased tactical intensity and moments of brilliance, keeping fans on the edge of their seats.

Polokwane City Hold SuperSport in Tense Stalemate

At Old Peter Mokaba Stadium, Polokwane City and SuperSport United played out a hard-fought 1-1 draw.

SuperSport struck first in the 19th minute when Christian Saile powered a header past the Polokwane keeper, courtesy of a pinpoint cross from Neo Rapoo after a corner.

Polokwane responded before halftime, with Lebohang Nkaki calmly slotting home a penalty in the 38th minute after Nyiko Mobbie's foul on Bonginkosi Dlamini in the box.

SuperSport dominated possession with 57% and fired 12 shots compared to Polokwane's eight, but neither side could find a winner.

Polokwane remain seventh with 35 points from 26 matches, while SuperSport sit 14th with 24 points from 24 games.

Recent X posts from Polokwane City praised Nkaki's composure, with the club noting, "Lebohang's ice-cold penalty keeps us pushing forward!"

AmaZulu Steal Late Win Over Golden Arrows

In a tightly contested KwaZulu-Natal derby at Mpumalanga Stadium, AmaZulu FC edged Golden Arrows 1-0 with a dramatic late goal.

The decisive moment came in the 84th minute when Etiosa Ighodaro rose highest to head in a perfectly delivered cross from Tshepang Moremi.

Despite Golden Arrows controlling 62% of possession and limiting AmaZulu to 38%, they managed only five shots compared to AmaZulu's 12.

The result lifts AmaZulu to sixth with 36 points from 27 matches, while Golden Arrows drop to 11th with 29 points from 23 games.

AmaZulu's official X account celebrated the win, posting, "Ighodaro's header seals it! Three points in the bag!"

Both matches underscored the Premiership's unpredictability, with late heroics and clinical finishing shaping the outcomes.
