Diogo Peral says killer instinct is missing as Cape Town City lose again

Thulani Gumede scored the only goal of the game at the King Zwelithini Stadium with 79 minutes on the clock.

The result left the Citizens in 14th place on the Betway Premiership standings with 24 points from 26 games, just a point ahead of SuperSport United.

Peral's charges only have themselves to blame explained the head coach, after they wasted a number of chances to find the back of the net before conceding.

"We played good football, built well from the back, and made numerous entries into the area. However, the killer instinct was missing," he said in the Citizen.

City have scored just 13 goals this season.

Richards Bay, meanwhile, jumped three places to 10th with 26 points from 26 games.

Natal Rich Boyz coach Ronnie Gabriel added: "Congratulations to Thulani for a spectacular goal. We have used our wingers to good effective this season.

"These were three huge points for us. It did not concern me how we played. All that mattered was winning."
