David Skosana reveals unsuccessful attempt to buy Betway Premiership side Royal AM

The deadline to submit proposals was on Friday, while the winning bid was supposed to be announced this past Monday.

No outcome has yet been revealed but a reported bid of R25m was said to have beaten Skosana's R15 million offer.

Skosana told the Sowetan: "We were told we would know by 4pm (on Monday), but thus far we didn't get any correspondence from the curator, so it means we didn't make it and we accept that.

"This was about the highest bidder and it is clear that ours was not the highest.

"We were planning to relocate the club to KwaNdebele, but hopefully there will be another opportunity."

Royal AM have not played any football since December and are bottom of the South African top-flight.
