Betway Premiership: Amazulu back to winning ways after beating Richards Bay
Amazulu were back to winning ways in the Betway Premiership after a 1-0 victory against KZN rivals Richards Bay at the King Zwelithini Stadium on Friday evening.
Speaking after AmaZulu's narrow 1-0 victory over Richards Bay FC at King Zwelithini Stadium on Friday, Zwane reflected on missed chances that have kept the team from climbing higher up the table.
"When the season started, at some point people saw us as a relegation team," Zwane said, as quoted by FarPost.
"But now, we have failed in five attempts to be in position three - five attempts. So you can imagine if we took advantage [in our previous games], we're talking probably six points. Those six points would have secured us a top-three spot right now."
Despite the frustrations, Zwane remains optimistic, emphasizing the importance of learning from past performances and continuing to build.
"I always believe that certain things happen for a reason. We are learning every day because the game is a teacher, and our players are growing in stature from situations like these."
Zwane also highlighted the club's commitment to nurturing young talent, noting that several youngsters are being given valuable game time as part of the club's long-term vision.
"We're giving some of our youngsters the opportunity to grow because of the investment the club has made. So we're just hoping for the best and that we'll continue grinding out results."
Following the win over the Natal Rich Boys, AmaZulu have climbed to seventh place on the league table, having accumulated 33 points from 25 matches.
