Harvey Elliott and Richarlison ignite feud in Liverpool's title-clinching thrashing of Spurs

The Reds, under first-year manager Arne Slot, dominated Spurs at Anfield, with goals from Luis Diaz, Alexis Mac Allister, Cody Gakpo, Mohamed Salah, and an own goal by Destiny Udogie sealing the rout after Dominic Solanke's early strike.

The result ensured Liverpool, with four games remaining, could not be caught by second-placed Arsenal, sparking wild celebrations across Merseyside. "This team have been exceptional from minute one," Slot said after the match, praising the squad's relentless form.

Late in the game, with the title secured, tensions flared as Elliott, a 76th-minute substitute, clashed with Richarlison in the 94th minute.

The pair shoved each other after Elliott attempted a nutmeg, with Elliott gesturing the number 30, seen as a jab at Everton's 30-year trophy drought. Liverpool fans on X loved it, with @Lenlfc calling it "the best part of today."

Richarlison, who scored 53 goals in 152 games for Everton from 2018 to 2022, hit back on TikTok, commenting, "He wants to reach 30 goals in his career I think."

Elliott, 22, has 21 senior goals in 143 appearances, mostly as a midfielder, but Richarlison's retort highlighted their personal rivalry.

The feud ties into Richarlison's Everton past, with reports suggesting a potential 30-million-pound return to Goodison Park, where he could replace Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

Spurs, struggling in the Premier League's bottom half, are eyeing the Europa League semi-final against Bodo/Glimt on May 21, for silverware. Everton, despite gritty draws against Arsenal and Liverpool, remain trophy-less since 1995.

Elliott and Liverpool hold the bragging rights for now. "Harvey Elliott has fully rattled Richarlison," posted X user @_LewisLFC. As Liverpool celebrate, this rivalry is far from over.
